Dr. Scharf treats several patients from the Parkland community who are harmed while working. According to the National Safety Council, the most usual type of work injury is musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which involves injuries to the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments and joints. MSDs account for more than one third of all workplace accidents.
The most ordinary type of MSD is a strain, which is an injury to a muscle or tendon. Strains are caused by lifting, pushing or pulling too much weight, or by repetitive movements. Other typical MSDs involve carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and back issues.
These injuries can be avoided by using correct lifting techniques, taking many breaks and using ergonomic tools. Employers can also help prevent injuries by giving their employees educational data on putting a stop to them.
Back pain and injuries are a frequent problem that Dr. Scharf sees in our #Ciyt# office and we also work with men and women who have shoulder or neck issues.
If you are suffering from a work injury or accident and live in the Parkland community, give Dr. Scharf a call and make an appointment today. We will work with you to create a treatment plan that will help you recover and do our best to have you back on the job as fast as we can!
